A baby boy named Odunkhan was born in Yakutsk on January 16, 2024, becoming the first child of the year in the city. A solemn naming ceremony was held in his honor, attended by local officials.

Odunkhan's name, which means 'God who lives on the eighth heaven' in Yakutian mythology, was chosen by his parents, Mikhail Mikhailov and Irina Mikhailova. The ceremony was a significant event in Yakutsk, with Deputy Chairman of the Government of Yakutia Olga Balabkina and Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Elena Teplyakova in attendance. The city celebrated the arrival of Odunkhan, marking the beginning of a new year in Yakutsk.
