Wetzlar: Free Bicycle & E-Scooter Coding Event on Oct 18, 2025
Wetzlar residents are invited to a free bicycle and e-scooter coding event on October 18, 2025. The action, organized by the local police, will take place at the 'House of Prevention' from 09.00 to 15.00 hours. Participants are required to bring specific documents and, for e-bike owners, the battery key.
The coding process involves engraving a unique code onto the bicycle frame. This code helps police return stolen or found bicycles to their rightful owners. To participate, owners must show their bicycle, proof of ownership or receipt, and a valid ID. For e-bike owners, bringing the battery key is also mandatory.
The event will be held at the Ludwig-Erik-Platz, accessible via Nauborner Straße. Prior booking is necessary, which can be done by calling 06441/918-0. Despite searching, no information was found about the author of the press release regarding this event.
On October 18, 2025, Wetzlar residents can get their bicycles and e-scooters coded for free, enhancing the chances of recovery if they are ever stolen. The police encourage all bicycle and e-scooter owners to participate and take this proactive step in protecting their property.
