Following a treacherous 2017 incident that washed out parts of the tracks, these communities stepped up, purchasing and renovating sections of the line to keep the railways operational[1].
Reaching the end of the line, approximately 1,700 kilometers and 45 hours later, we disembark in the small town of Churchill, home to around 900 souls. In autumn, the aurora borealis paints the night sky, while polar bears gather at the edge of the frozen sea[2].
