VinFast's VF 6 and VF 7 Transform Indian EV Market with Affordability and Tech

VinFast's VF 6 and VF 7, manufactured in India, are making waves in the electric vehicle (EV) market. These affordable premium SUVs offer impressive ranges, quick charging, and advanced safety features, changing Indian perceptions about EVs.

The VF 6 and VF 7 boast certified ranges of 468 km and 532 km respectively. A quick charge from 10 to 70 percent takes approximately 25 minutes, ensuring minimal downtime. They are packed with safety features such as Advanced Driver Assistance at Level 2, 360-degree surround view, and automatic emergency braking.

Indian buyers are now seeing EVs as tech-rich companions. A man in Delhi, after experiencing a new electric SUV, changed his opinion about electric cars. Indians are prioritizing technology, features, and connected services over just lower running costs and emissions reduction. Families and young professionals are drawn to these EVs for cleaner cabin air, seamless digital links, and modern design. The in-car experience, including navigation, assistance systems, and cabin comfort, is now as important as range or charging time. Both models come with a 12.9-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and multiple drive modes for enhanced connectivity and comfort.

Electric cars made up about 2.5 percent of passenger vehicle sales in India in 2024, but sales are growing rapidly, with a 53 percent increase in the first half of 2025. VinFast's VF 6 and VF 7 are at the forefront of this growth, offering Indian buyers a compelling blend of affordability, technology, and sustainability.
