VinFast Expands in India with Electric SUVs, Boosts Service Network
VinFast, the Vietnamese automaker, has expanded its reach in India with the distribution of its electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, through partnerships with major dealer companies. The company has also collaborated with Castrol India to establish over 750 service workshops across more than 300 cities, ensuring comprehensive customer support. This move comes amidst growing interest in electric vehicles (EVs) in India, with 72% of buyers open to switching brands and 33% prioritizing technology and features.
The Indian EV market is witnessing significant growth, with a 53% increase in sales in the first half of 2025 compared to 2024. VinFast's VF 6 and VF 7, manufactured locally in India, cater to this growing demand with their advanced features. These SUVs offer Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance, a 360-degree surround view, and automatic emergency braking for enhanced safety. They also boast quick charging capabilities, with a 10 to 70% charge in approximately 25 minutes, and certified ranges up to 532 km for the VF 7.
The VF 6 and VF 7 come equipped with a 12.9-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and multiple drive modes, reflecting Indian buyers' preference for connected services and comfort. A significant 88% of Indian buyers are willing to share personal data for improved connected services, and 62% rank quality and features above price. These SUVs aim to provide a premium smart experience, transforming EVs from eco gadgets into everyday companions for Indian families and young professionals.
