Upper Austria's Camping Boom: 2.6% Increase in Overnight Stays in 2022

Upper Austria's camping scene has boomed in 2022, with a 2.6% increase in overnight stays. This surge comes as no surprise to Provincial Councillor Markus Achleitner, who welcomes the expansion of camping news in the region. The trend towards nature-based vacations has driven this growth, with guests from the Netherlands, Germany, and the Czech Republic flocking to the campsites.

Last year saw a record-breaking 510,000 overnight stays in Upper Austria's camping sites. The camping industry in the region generates an impressive 149 euros in value creation per day. Camping enthusiasts are drawn to the combination of nature, culinary delights, and leisure activities that Upper Austria offers.

New campsites are set to open in Hinterstoder, Schärding, and Natternbach by 2025, further expanding the region's camping news offerings. Despite the plans, the owners or operators of these new sites remain unnamed in current search results.

The camping industry in Upper Austria continues to thrive, with a significant increase in overnight stays in 2022. The region's appeal to nature lovers from across Europe, particularly the Netherlands, Germany, and the Czech Republic, is set to grow with the upcoming new campsites.
