Unleash Creation: Transforming Brainstorms into Realities

The Krea-Youth Club in Bergisch Gladbach is gearing up for an exciting event, as the final show of their "Create!" project during the autumn holidays approaches. This unique event, scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Free Waldorf School Bergisch Gladbach auditorium, showcases the creative work of young people and adults who have spent the holidays exploring their artistic talents.

The "Create!" project, now in its third year, offers a welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds and ages. This year, the music group stands out for its diversity, with members hailing from Italy, England, America, Tunisia, Macedonia, and Congo. The breakdance group, too, boasts a multicultural roster, reflecting the club's commitment to inclusivity.

The music group, part of the multi-award-winning "Hip-Hop for Democracy" project, has been working tirelessly on their performance. Led by Yasmin, the process involves coming up with melodies, words, and a catchy hook, followed by text writing and selection of the group. The breakdance group, under the guidance of coach Daniel Richartz, is working on a choreography that is "very far from classic breakdance."

Meanwhile, Linda Willutzki, a dance instructor at the club, has been rehearsing an old-school hip-hop choreography with her students. Pia, one of the dancers in the hip-hop group, explains that they dance in the "lady style," which is seen as feminine and allows each dancer to bring their own personality to the performance.

The graffiti group is also working on a stage backdrop for the final show. Nermin and Erem, the graffiti coaches, are also collaborating with the hip-hop group for the choreography.

Carlota, a member of the breakdance group, states that young people can shape their lives in their own way through projects like these. Pia, who first joined the Krea-Youth Club two years ago, emphasizes the impact such projects have had on her personal growth. Her first participation, on the topic of "failure," changed her mindset, she says.

Admission for the final show begins at 6:30 PM, and entry is free. Sigrid Brenner, director of the creativity school, expresses enthusiasm about the music group's heterogeneity and how well it works. The Krea-Youth Club sends a local news overview to subscribers' inboxes every morning at 7:07 AM.
