UAE Reveals National Exhibition at Expo 2025 Osaka: A Blend of Tradition, Technology, and international Foresight

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially opened its national pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, marking a significant milestone in the country's commitment to showcasing its authentic heritage and forward-thinking vision for the future. The pavilion, located in the Empowering Lives Zone, is a testament to the UAE’s achievements and aspirations, offering visitors an immersive cultural experience that reflects its diverse and inclusive atmosphere.

The pavilion, designed by the Earth to Ether Design Collective - a collaboration between Emirati and Japanese creatives - reimagines traditional Emirati architecture using agricultural palm waste and Japanese woodworking techniques. Inside, visitors embark on a sensory journey showcasing the UAE’s achievements in space exploration, healthcare, sustainability, and innovation.

The pavilion hosts more than 40 programs, including artistic and cultural dialogues such as the "Art @ Embassies" talk, live workshops by Emirati artists, and performances blending Arabic and Japanese calligraphy. These activities foster cultural diplomacy and creative exchange, embodying the UAE’s mission to connect cultures, ideas, and innovation.

The UAE’s national pavilion is backed by key partners: ADNOC, Space42, PureHealth, and DCT Abu Dhabi. The presence of 46 Youth Ambassadors, including 24 Emiratis, guarantees a personalized, culturally rich experience for every guest. These Youth Ambassadors represent the UAE's spirit in seven languages, ensuring a diverse and inclusive atmosphere.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, led the opening ceremony along with Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi and Ambassador Shihab Al Faheem. Dr. Al Jaber emphasized the UAE’s commitment to inclusive progress, clean energy, and global partnerships.

Since its opening on April 13, 2025, the UAE pavilion has attracted over two million visitors, becoming one of the most popular at the event, which runs until October 13, 2025. Visitors can enjoy Emirati cuisine, shop local designs, and participate in hands-on sessions at the pavilion. The centrepiece of the UAE’s national pavilion is a forest of 90 towering rachis columns, designed by the Earth to Ether Design Collective, symbolizing the date palm - a symbol of Emirati heritage.

The pavilion also underscores the UAE’s legacy at World Expos, dating back to 1970. Al Kaabi reflected on the UAE’s journey, highlighting its continuous efforts to promote cultural exchange, innovation, and sustainable development.
