Two Injured in Morning Collision in Duisburg
Two people were injured in a morning collision on Tuesday, 30 September, at the intersection of Düsseldorfer Straße/Heerstraße in Duisburg. A 31-year-old driver of a black VW Golf, coming from Heerstraße, collided with a 79-year-old driving a black Nissan on Düsseldorfer Straße. The incident occurred at 7:20 AM.
Both drivers sustained injuries in the crash. The VW Golf driver was taken to the hospital, while the Nissan driver declined medical treatment. The VW Golf driver claimed they did not notice the traffic lights were out. Both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed away. The Traffic Commission 22 is currently investigating the incident.
The accident resulted in two injuries and significant vehicle damage. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision, with the police press office yet to release a statement on the matter.
