Eileen Borroto, a budding illustrator, has embarked on an exciting journey in the world of art. Currently pursuing the Sessions Undergraduate Certificate in Illustration, Eileen has found solace and growth in her drawing classes.

In her Drawing I and Life Drawing I classes, Eileen has witnessed a significant improvement in her ability and understanding. The sessions have honed her hand-eye coordination, a skill that has been particularly rewarding.

But the benefits of Eileen's art classes extend beyond technical skills. Drawing has become a therapeutic process for her, offering a way to manage emotions, reduce stress, and improve her mental well-being. The creative expression through drawing provides a sense of calm and focus that Eileen cherishes.

Eileen does not adhere to a fixed art style. She begins her work with a sketch, primarily working digitally. Her creative process involves laying out a colour scheme, creating line art, colouring, and adding final touch-ups to her artwork. Occasionally, she starts her sketches traditionally and transfers them over to digital mediums.

Inspiration for Eileen's work comes from various sources. She finds inspiration in the works of other artists, aesthetic posts on Pinterest, nature, and anime. A personal project close to her heart is her ongoing endeavour to illustrate a children's book. This project, she believes, presents an opportunity to change her life for the better.

Upon graduation, Eileen hopes to collaborate with creators and future clients. She plans to pursue art on a freelance level, including commissions and developing an online store. She also works on creating page illustrations for a children's book written by a longtime friend.

Eileen's journey in art was not without hurdles. Despite being previously accepted into an art school, she could not enroll due to loan issues. However, she persevered and found her way to Sessions, where she continues to grow and thrive as an artist.

In the future, Eileen intends to participate in conventions to sell and promote her works. Her work and creative process are not fixed and often do not turn out as initially imagined, but the end result is always a testament to her passion and dedication to her craft.
