Russians Prepare to Allocate up to 180,000 Rubles for Summer Family Vacations

In a recent poll conducted by "Komsomolka" in their Telegram channel, over 6,000 respondents revealed plans to spend an average of 180,000 rubles on their summer family vacations. The poll, reflecting spending trends of "average families," saw a rise in spending compared to two years ago when the average limit stood at 120,300 rubles.

While a third of the respondents now plan to spend their summer holidays at home or on a dacha, the proportion of workaholics who do not intend to take a vacation remained unchanged at 14%. Overall, around half of those surveyed do not plan to vacation with their families this summer.

For those who still plan to travel, the most popular spending range stands between 100,000 to 200,000 rubles, according to the KP poll. However, when considering all votes up to half a million rubles, the average maximum spending comes out to 180,000 rubles.

Expert analysts from the "Sletat.ru" service shared their insights on real vacation spending this season. The average check, based on all vacation requests for the analyzed period, shows the following costs:

  • Russia: 130,700 rubles (+3.1% compared to last summer)
  • Turkey: 148,000 rubles (+5.5%)
  • Egypt: 203,600 rubles (+10%)
  • Abkhazia: 118,350 rubles (+9.2%)
  • UAE: 233,450 rubles (+28%)
  • Thailand: 165,900 rubles (-9.3%)
  • China: 173,200 rubles (-24%)

Across Russia, the average cost of a single night's stay is predicted to increase by 16%, although overall spending has decreased by 10% due to reduced booking durations. Factors driving up accommodation prices include inflation, increased costs of utilities, and rising consumer goods prices. Similar trends affect transport costs due to higher fuel and aircraft part prices, along with increasing operational expenses for transport companies. Despite this, demand remains stable or even increases on some routes, facilitating price adjustments.

The KP survey implies that citizens are aware of these dynamics.

Enrichment Data notes that Russia's tourism revenue reached $7.6 billion in 2024, an increase from $6.8 billion in the previous year. The number of leisure tourists in 2024 was 1.57 million, marking a shift toward leisure travel as a significant driver of tourism. In Moscow, hotels saw a 4.2% increase in occupancy with upper-upscale hotels reaching RUB 12,413 per available room per day, and three-star hotels showing a 35% revenue increase.
