Thousands flocked to Saarbrücken for the Unity Festival, a grand event featuring Minister President Anke Rehlinger, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and French President Emmanuel Macron. The festival, broadcast on TV, showcased art, culture, culinary delights, and tourism offerings, drawing praise from attendees.

The festival boasted an impressive 600 artists performing across 20 stages. Uwe Erhardt from Saarbrücken commended the organisation but highlighted issues with public transport, noting capacity and waiting time problems. Despite this, Thomas de Schutter from Neustadt an der Weinstraße enjoyed the atmosphere and looked forward to trying traditional Saarland dish 'Dibbelabbes'.

The city center buzzed with activity, making navigation challenging due to the high number of visitors. However, Petra Ohnesorg-Patzig from near Aschaffenburg appreciated the event's accessibility and proximity to attractions. Thomas Ohnesorg, a proud Saarlander, celebrated his region's representation and the successful reunification.
