Strong performance recorded by Jazeera Airways in the initial half of 2025
Jazeera Airways Reports Strong First Half Performance, Focuses on Future Growth
Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's leading low-cost carrier, has announced its financial results for the first half of 2025, revealing a significant increase in net profit and ongoing investments in passenger-centric innovations.
The airline reported a net profit of KD 9.6 million for the first half of the year, marking a 249.5% increase over the same period in 2024. This growth was driven by a combination of factors, including capacity growth, a diversified business portfolio, and an increase in ancillary income, which grew by 26.6% in the first half of 2025, reaching KD 10.9 million.
Group operating revenue for the same period rose by 3.3% to KD 102.2 million. Despite regional geopolitical challenges and temporary airspace disruptions in Q2, Jazeera Airways closed a strong second quarter with net profits of KD 4.8 million.
Passenger traffic for the first half of 2025 stood at about 2.3 million travelers, a marginal increase of 0.1% year-on-year, with a load factor of 75.5%.
In the second quarter, Jazeera Airways served 1 million passengers with a load factor of 72%. However, geopolitical issues did impact profitability and caused a share price drop.
Jazeera Airways' fleet optimization is on track, with the 180-seat configuration set for completion by Q4 2025. The airline is also preparing to receive 26 new aircraft from 2026, enabling network expansion, operational scale, and growth in commercial and e-commerce channels.
The airline is investing in customer experience, innovation, and Terminal 5 upgrades to drive future growth. In Q2 2025, Jazeera Airways launched new routes to Budapest (Hungary), Hurghada (Egypt), Sochi (Russia), and Yerevan (Armenia). The airline also resumed flights to Damascus, Syria, re-establishing direct connectivity between Kuwait and Syria after 13 years.
Looking ahead, the outlook for the second half of 2025 remains positive for Jazeera Airways. However, specific financial results for 2H 2025 have not yet been published. Passenger numbers and revenues for the full year or second half will depend on factors such as geopolitical stability and operational resilience, which affected Q2 performance.
