Alina Merkau, the popular host of Sat.1 Morning Show, has shared her experiences of the past four weeks on the Spanish island of Ibiza with her followers on Instagram. Along with her husband Rael Hoffmann and their two children, daughter Rosa (born 2016) and son Carlo (born 2021), they moved from Berlin to Ibiza for a year as a special life adventure.
In her recent posts, Alina has expressed a desire for normality after initially wanting to escape it. She mentioned that the first weeks on Ibiza were challenging emotionally, as suggested by her Instagram comment. However, she also expressed that she is adapting slowly to life on Ibiza, coming in 'tiny little steps.'
One of her Instagram clips, titled 'Four weeks away,' showcases various activities like working, swimming, dancing, and exploring Ibiza. In the clip, Alina can be seen working on her laptop, jumping into the water with her daughter, dancing with her son, and showcasing more impressions of the beautiful Spanish island.
Alina has also mentioned that there will be ups and downs in their Ibiza lifestyle, but she is looking forward to enjoying life on the island for a year. After a week of vacation, she expects 'normal life' to begin on Ibiza.
Despite the initial challenges, Alina's family seems to be settling into their new life on Ibiza. One night, Alina's daughter slept at a friend's house, while her son was awake but still in his room in their Ibiza home.
As Alina continues to share her experiences on Ibiza through Instagram clips, it's clear that she and her family are experiencing a sense of normality on the island. They moved to Ibiza in August and will be staying there for a year, as previously announced.
Through her posts, Alina has opened up about a range of emotions experienced in the first four weeks on Ibiza, including love, togetherness, and various negative emotions. Despite the challenges, she remains optimistic about their future on the island and is looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead.
