Russia's New Sleep Tourism Trend: Relax and Recharge
A new trend is emerging in Russia: 'sleep tourism'. Despite half of respondents never hearing of it, 12% express interest, with 6% already trying it. The idea appeals to many, especially those from megacities seeking nearby relaxation spots.
The concept involves short trips focused on catching up on sleep and relaxation. In Russia, demand for glamping and eco-hotels has surged by 30% this year, with an average daily rental of 6000 rubles. Most Russians believe two to three days is sufficient for a good night's sleep, while 28% prefer longer durations of 12 days to two weeks.
Popular destinations include secluded mountain cabins (29%) and spa hotels near cities (28%). St. Petersburg residents favor top-rated local hotels like Helvetia Hotel, Bronza, and Lotte Hotel St. Petersburg. For a 'sleeping' tour, 35% of respondents are willing to spend 20,000 to 40,000 rubles, with 18% open to spending more than 70,000 rubles.
Despite initial unfamiliarity, 'sleep tourism' is gaining traction in Russia. With various attractive destinations and flexible budgets, it caters to different preferences. As Russians strive to improve their sleep quality, this trend is set to continue.
