Russia's Aviation Authority has declared the scheduled completion date for airport operations, ready for incoming flights.
After a hiatus of over three years due to security concerns stemming from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Gelendzhik Airport is set to reopen for regular passenger flights, with Aeroflot leading the way. The Russian carrier will resume its services from Moscow to Gelendzhik Airport starting July 18, 2025.
The airport, which opened a new terminal in 2021, will operate under daylight hours, specifically from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM local time. This restriction has been confirmed by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) and State Corporation for Air Traffic Management specialists.
Aeroflot's flights to Gelendzhik Airport will be operated on narrow-body Airbus A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration: economy and business. Ticket sales for these flights have already started, with the first flight pricing starting from 17,800 rubles.
Initially, Aeroflot's flights to Gelendzhik Airport will run on July 18, 20, and 23. From July 25, the service will become daily. The flight duration from Moscow to Gelendzhik is just over four hours.
The resumption of operations at Gelendzhik Airport was announced by Rosaviatsiya on July 9, following the confirmation that the airport is ready to receive and dispatch civilian aircraft, as stated in a NOTAM. The airport had been closed since 2022 following the start of the military operation in Ukraine.
