Royal Caribbean Launches Port Partners Program in Seward, Alaska
Royal Caribbean cruise line is launching a unique program in Seward, Alaska, called Port Partners. This initiative aims to support and empower local businesses that will serve cruise passengers during port calls. Applications are open until December 15, with the program commencing in February 2026.
Port Partners is a ten-week academic course offering personalized mentorship, coaching, and an interactive pitch competition. The winner will receive a $20,000 grant. The program is a collaboration between Royal Caribbean, Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC), the University of Alaska, the Seward Small Business Development Center, and the City of Seward. Residents with business ideas in the conceptual or early operational stages are welcome to apply.
The Port Partners program is part of Royal Caribbean's 'SEA the Future' strategy, focusing on sustainability, community energization, and innovation acceleration. AVTEC and the University of Alaska are developing a pathway for participants to earn course credits.
Royal Caribbean's commitment to Seward includes a thirty-year use of the $137 million cruise ship terminal. With the launch of Port Partners, the cruise line seeks to foster local business growth and enhance the port's offerings. The program promises to bring opportunities and investments to Seward's entrepreneurial community.
