Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis Police Launch 'Eyes Open, Bag Closed' Campaign Against Pickpocketing
The Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis police are launching a week-long campaign to combat pickpocketing, starting Monday, October 6th. The 'Eyes open, bag secure' initiative aims to educate and protect residents, with various events and measures planned across the district.
Kicking off at Strundepark in Bergisch Gladbach, the campaign will see the crime prevention team advising locals on common pickpocket tricks and offering protection advice. They will be present at different locations throughout the week, including near Aldi from 14:00 to 17:00 on Monday.
To further raise awareness, an informative brochure on pickpocket prevention is available for free download on the police's website. Additionally, plainclothes officers will be patrolling popular spots in the district to deter and detect any suspicious activity.
Information stands will be set up at RheinBerg-Galerie on Wednesday, the city center of Bergisch Gladbach on Thursday, and Thomas-Mann-Straße in Wermelskirchen on Friday. These stands will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the campaign and how to protect themselves and their belongings.
