Yakutsk Hosts International Creative Industries Forum

Yakutsk, Russia (May 29, 2025) - The II International Forum of Creative Industries, named "Created in the Far East: From Creativity to Economy," commenced in Yakutsk on Thursday. This three-day event, which runs until May 31, brings together over two thousand delegates from 36 regions of Russia and foreign countries.

Notable attendees include Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, and Alexei Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic. The republic's leader, Aisen Nikolaev, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating in his Telegram channel, "We believe that ideas, talents, and inspiration can become the foundation of a new economy."

The forum aims to transform the region's artistic and creative potential into sustainable economic growth. In his visit to the 'Vitrina of Creative Products' exhibition, Nikolaev and Trutnev inspected projects from 11 Far Eastern subjects, showcasing the best practices in various creative industries, such as cinema, animation, jewelry art, and fashion.

One highlight of the Yakutia stand was the presentation of the comic "Earth of Heroes Alecha" and an interaction with Andrei Grigoryev, a Hero of Russia whose story inspired one of the comic's characters.

The program features 150 events, including pitching sessions for projects targeting the development of the Far Eastern regions and improving quality of life, screenings of Far Eastern films, a festival of contemporary culture, a gastro-festival, open concerts, and workshops for city residents and visitors.

The Forum of Creative Industries positions Yakutsk as a center for the creative economy, aiming to reinforce its status through collaboration, investment, and international attention. The event seeks to foster economic development, promote creative industries, attract investment, and form networks among leaders, experts, and government agencies, as well as creatives and businesses from Russia and abroad. The forum emphasizes the development of human resources, support measures, infrastructure, and cultural exchange, and serves as a platform for dialogue on policy and practice to align strategies and identify practical solutions for sector growth.
