Renowned Psychologist Nigel Latta Dies at 58 After Cancer Battle

Renowned psychologist and broadcaster Nigel Latta has passed away at the age of 58 following a year-long battle with incurable stomach cancer. Meanwhile, the Government has pledged support for critical electricity infrastructure projects, with Finance Minister Nicola Willis announcing backing for strategic energy security investments.

Latta, known for his TV shows and mental health advocacy, was diagnosed with the disease over a year ago. Tributes have flooded in since his passing. In other news, the Government is ready to fund majority-owned power companies' requests for critical electricity infrastructure upgrades. Willis stated that the support is for commercially rational and strategic investments in energy security.

Separately, in a court case, the woman accused of ill-treating a child found in a suitcase has been granted permanent name suppression. She did not attend the Auckland District Court hearing.

Nigel Latta's death has left a void in the mental health community, with many paying tribute to his work. The Government's commitment to energy security is evident in its support for critical electricity infrastructure projects, aiming to protect and enhance New Zealand's resilience.
