Remscheid Tries Again to Tame Show-Off Car Scene with New Regulations

Remscheid is taking another crack at curbing the show-off car scene, with Councillor Barbara Reul-Nocke presenting a new regulation to tackle nighttime disturbances in the Lennep district. This comes after a previous proposal was rejected three years ago.

The new measures aim to address frequent disturbances caused by the scene, such as loud music, party noise, screeching tires, and roaring engines. Up to 40 modified cars have been counted by the public order office. If approved, parties will be banned, and private parking lot owners will be given a direct line to the police to enforce their own bans. The council will vote on a 'no loitering' rule proposal on Thursday, which includes plans for speed humps and 'sleeping policemen'.

Remscheid's second attempt to tackle the poser car scene seeks to reduce disturbances for residents. The proposed measures, including a ban on parties and direct police contact for private lot owners, will be voted on by the council on Thursday. If approved, these regulations aim to curb the activities of the show-off car scene in the Lennep district.
