In September 2022, a delegation from the German town of Roding, led by Second Mayor Dr. Reinhold Schoierer and Third Mayor Alfred Stuiber, embarked on a four-day visit to Hungary. The primary goal of this trip was to further strengthen the bond between Roding and Budapest's 18th district, a partnership that has been maintained for two decades.

The visit commenced with an inspection at Lake Balaton, a popular tourist destination known for its environmental beauty. The delegation was keen to examine the environmental protection measures and sustainable tourism development around the lake.

During their stay, the Roding delegation also visited several historical sites, including the Hungarian Parliament Building. They were given a tour of the Hungarian National Museum, providing them with a glimpse into the rich cultural history of Hungary.

A highlight of the visit was a meeting with the Mayor of Budapest's 18th district, Mr. István Ujhelyi. The delegation also participated in a joint press conference with Hungarian officials to discuss the strengthening of the partnership.

The Roding delegation held discussions on potential collaborative projects between the two towns. One of the projects under consideration was the development of a cultural exchange programme.

The delegation attended a traditional Hungarian folk dance performance and visited various locations in Hungary's 18th district throughout their visit.

The visit concluded with the delegation expressing their gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality they received during their stay in Hungary. The Roding delegation's visit served to strengthen the ties between the two towns, paving the way for future collaborations and reciprocal visits.
