Positive development for Belarusians intending to take a trip to Lithuania
Express Train Service from Vilnius to Palanga Resumes
Starting June 6th, LTG Link invites travelers to explore Lithuania's coastline via train this summer. The four-hour journey from Vilnius to Palanga is set to resume, with tickets now on sale, as announced by Delfi.
The express train service, coordinated with buses, will transport passengers from the railway station to the Lithuanian coast. A special bus will be available at the Kretinga bus station to transport travelers to Palanga. Tickets for the second class will remain at last year's price of 27.2 euros. Families with children can enjoy half-price tickets on weekends and public holidays.
"Over 5,000 passengers used this express service last year, making it one of our most popular routes," said Kristina Meide, head of LTG Link. She advises planning trips in advance due to high demand, as tickets tend to sell out a week before departure.
Trains will run until August 31st. Departures from Vilnius are scheduled for Fridays at 3:03 PM and Saturdays at 8:40 AM. Return journeys from Palanga are set for Sundays, with a departure from Palanga at 6:50 PM and an arrival in Vilnius at 11:25 PM.
The schedule will be adjusted to accommodate the weekends of Ivan Kupala (Jonines) and Assumption of Mary (Žolinės). Travelers can bring pets, large baggage, and bicycles aboard the train.
While there is no widely recognized "LTG Link Train to the Sea" service listed in major rail resources for 2022, the most relevant major rail project is Rail Baltica, which connects multiple Baltic states. However, Rail Baltica does not offer a direct "Train to the Sea" or detailed 2022 schedules or ticket details for all minor stops or branches. Standard pet transportation policies vary by operator and should be checked directly with the service provider.
This summer, families can enjoy a cost-effective coastal getaway with the resumed express train service from Vilnius to Palanga, ideal for a lifestyle focused on travel and exploration. The affordable second-class tickets, at 27.2 euros, make this service an attractive option for travelers planning a trip to Lithuania's picturesque coastline.
