### Aeroflot Flight Delayed Due to Drone Threats at Pulkovo Airport

A flight operated by Aeroflot from St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport to Omsk has experienced a delay, with the new expected departure time set for 1:30 PM local time. This delay comes as part of a series of disruptions at the airport due to reported threats of Ukrainian drone attacks.

The initial scheduled departure time for the flight was 1:10 AM on July 8, but the aircraft has yet to take off as of the current time. The return flight from Omsk to St. Petersburg is also delayed, with a new expected departure time of 9:10 PM.

These disruptions at Pulkovo Airport are part of a broader pattern that has been ongoing for several months. Since January 2025, there have been at least 217 temporary airport closures across Russia due to drone threats, surpassing the total for 2023 and 2024 combined. This has led to significant disruptions at major airports like Pulkovo and Sheremetyevo.

On July 5, 2025, these disruptions resulted in over 50 flights being delayed and more than 20 being canceled at Pulkovo Airport. Passengers reported waiting more than 10 hours for their flights. The longest delay recorded at the airport, excluding the July 7 Moscow flight, is for the Aeroflot flight in question.

Flights from Moscow and Novosibirsk have also been affected, with delays and cancellations reported. However, Pulkovo Airport is currently operating in normal mode despite these delays. The airport authorities have not provided further details on the drone threats or the measures being taken to ensure passenger safety.

Ukraine has not officially commented on these incidents, but the disruptions are consistent with Ukraine's strategy to target Russian infrastructure beyond the front lines. Passengers are advised to check the airport's website for the latest updates on their flights and to allow extra time for travel due to the ongoing delays.

The delay in the Aeroflot flight from Pulkovo Airport to Omsk has affected travel plans, disrupting not just the Sunday lifestyle but also the return flight from Omsk. The ongoing drone threats at Pulkova Airport, part of a broader pattern since January 2025, have led to numerous flight disruptions, impacting people's travel lifestyle and causing significant delays.
