Piedmont's Giant Benches Attract Visitors with Stunning Views

Piedmont, a region in northwest Italy, has become renowned for its unique attraction: giant benches. These colossal seats, scattered across the landscape, offer stunning views and engaging experiences for visitors.

The first 'Big Bench' was created in 2010 by Chris Bangle in Clavesana, Cuneo. Since then, over 180 giant benches have been installed throughout Piedmont, including Langhe, Monferrato, Roero, and mountainous areas of Turin. The Big Bench Community Project (BBCP) encourages local communities to participate in creating and enjoying these installations.

These giant benches provide panoramic views of the region's diverse landscapes. In Monferrato, they offer vistas of castles, hazelnut trees, and rolling hills, perfect for picnicking and photography. In Turin and its surrounding areas, they combine green landscapes with picturesque villages. The most beautiful giant benches in the Langhe overlook vineyards, inviting visitors to explore historic villages and enjoy wine tasting. Many of these benches are signposted and easily accessible, with a 'Big Bench passport' available for collecting stamps.

The giant benches of Piedmont not only provide scenic views but also attract tourists, families, and nature lovers. They have transformed the hills of Piedmont into a popular destination for unique experiences and nature appreciation, with over 180 installations scattered across the region.
