Norway Joins Drone Coalition, Boosting Ukraine's Defense with $50M and Drones by 2025
The International Drone Coalition has welcomed Norway as its 18th member, bolstering support for Ukraine's defence. This move comes after a Steering Committee meeting in London, where Norway's desire to join was backed.
The Drone Coalition, established to ensure a steady supply of drones and related assistance to Europe, has seen significant contributions. In 2024 alone, it provided 1.8 billion euros in support.
Norway's entry into the coalition is considered a crucial step. The Scandinavian nation has pledged $50 million and is set to begin delivering drones to Ukraine by the end of 2025. This follows a meeting of the Drone Coalition Steering Group, which is responsible for key decisions regarding the coalition's work.
With Norway's addition, the Drone Coalition now comprises 18 member states. The coalition continues to play a vital role in Ukraine's defence, with more allies expected to enhance this support. The next Steering Committee meeting is anticipated to build on the progress made in London.
