Noka Camp Shortlisted for 2020 AHEAD Awards for Eco-Friendly Design
Noka Camp, a luxurious accommodation nestled in the malaria-free Lapalala Game Reserve, has been recognized for its sustainable design and minimal environmental impact. Shortlisted in the 2020 AHEAD Awards, this 12-sleeper camp is a testament to Yuji Yamazaki Architecture's commitment to eco-friendly design.
Yuji Yamazaki Architecture designed Noka Camp with a brief to use renewable energy and minimize environmental impact. The camp is built on steel stilts to minimize disturbance to the land and allow for reversibility if required. This innovative design has earned Noka Camp a spot on the shortlist for the 2020 AHEAD Awards in the Lodges, Cabins & Tented Camps category.
Situated on a 100ft rock face with the Palala River below, Noka Camp offers panoramic views and uncompromised luxury. The camp's location required a comprehensive geo-technical survey to ensure structural integrity during construction. Despite its challenging location, Noka Camp provides a unique and unforgettable experience for its guests.
Noka Camp, part of Lepogo Lodges, is more than just a luxurious accommodation. Its sustainable design and commitment to minimal environmental impact have earned it recognition in the 2020 AHEAD Awards. With profits going towards helping local communities and conserving the Lapalala Game Reserve, Noka Camp is a symbol of responsible tourism. Its sister lodge, Melote House, is set to open in 2021, sleeping up to 16 guests and further expanding the offerings of Lepogo Lodges.
