The small town of Honsolgen is abuzz with anticipation as the much-anticipated musical adaptation of Erich Kästner's classic novel, "Emil and the Detectives," is set to take the stage at the Honsolgen clubhouse.

Directed by Silke Forster, the dedicated team behind this production includes Director Jakob Seidl, Conductor Heidi Wöhrle, and Choreographer Konni Burkhardt. Seidl, with his practical tips for better stage presence, is guiding the young actors towards a confident and engaging performance. Wöhrle, meanwhile, is directing the young singers on stage, while Kerstin Klotz, the choir director, plays the music and gives brief stage directions.

The ensemble for the musical consists of three "Emils" - Julian (12), Lukas (10), and Leo (14) - and a host of other talented young actors. Matthäus (14), who previously played and sang in "Oliver!" last year, is also part of the cast.

Rehearsals for the play have been ongoing for over a year, and as the premiere on Saturday, September 13, at 7 PM, approaches, they have intensified. The soccer ball must stay outside during the performances to ensure a distraction-free environment.

The Honsolgen clubhouse can seat approximately 215 people per performance, and with almost all shows sold out, it's clear that the community is eager to support this production. Additional showtimes are on September 14, 19, and 20 at 7 PM, and September 20 at 3 PM.

The musical was initiated by Kerstin Klotz, who founded the children's choir "Picchoro" ten years ago. This production marks a significant milestone for the choir, and the two young actresses, Marta (9) and Marina (10), who are also involved in the production, find acting and singing in the theater to be "really cool."

With approximately 150 people involved in the production, it promises to be a grand spectacle. For those who haven't yet secured their tickets, they are still available at www.mk-honsolgen.de/emil. Don't miss out on this exciting event!
