Rodolfo Depaz, a dedicated worker from El Salvador, commutes more than four miles daily between his two jobs at Dairy Queen and Chipotle in Roseville, Minnesota. Depaz works approximately 80 hours per week and sends most of his income back to his family in El Salvador.
Depaz's personal spending is minimal, focusing primarily on supporting his family. However, the community around him has been instrumental in easing his daily burden. A friend from Bible study gifted him a car, a 2000 Buick Century, replacing his long daily walk. A former coworker started a crowdfunding campaign to support him, while his coworkers and their families have included him in social events, gifted him a bike, and provided emotional support.
Todd Nelson, the director of operations for the owner of the Dairy Queen location, considers Depaz a "Very, very hard worker." Nelson is also helping Depaz set up with a good attorney to help with his legal status, as Depaz arrived in the U.S. with a work visa and work ethic, and the government granted him legal status to work.
Depaz's daughter's name is Daniella, and his son's name is Rodolfo. He walks four-and-a-half miles a day to and from his jobs, including on weekends, to send every extra cent he earns to his wife in El Salvador for a better life for his family. He hopes to provide his family with better food, better school, and a better house.

Manager Faby Quevedo recalled seeing Depaz walking to the Dairy Queen for his job interview. Depaz received the 2000 Buick Century from another member of the Bible study, and Mike Hinderscheid, who started inviting Depaz to family outings, holidays, and his men's Bible study group, gave his bike to Depaz.
Depaz expressed gratitude for the car, saying he listens to prayers every day. He also wants to provide his family in El Salvador with a better life, and he prays for his wife and kids to join him in the U.S. Todd Nelson is glad that Depaz has finally asked for two nights a month off, which are for his Bible study.
