Former Partner Stabbed: 10 Years in Prison for 33-Year-Old in Dortmund - Man, 33, Gets 10-Year Manslaughter Sentence for Ex-Lover's Death

A 33-year-old man has been convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years in prison. The verdict, reached in a Dortmund court, is not yet final and can be appealed. Both the prosecution and the defense agreed on a manslaughter conviction. The prosecution sought 13 years, while the defense argued for seven. The court settled on a 10-year sentence. The crime was sparked by the victim's desire to end the relationship, leaving the man despairing and hopeless. The court ruled out murder, finding no signs of revenge or excessive possessiveness in the defendant's actions. The man, represented by defense lawyer B. Dimsic, LL.M., a specialist in criminal law, was found guilty of manslaughter. The verdict is not yet final, and an appeal is possible.
