Mallorca's Alcudia and Fornalutx Honored as Spain's Most Beautiful Villages
Two of Mallorca's most charming villages, Alcudia and Fornalutx, have been honoured as part of Spain's 'Most Beautiful Villages' network in 2025. The initiative, led by the Asociación Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España, celebrates destinations that preserve their historic charm and cultural heritage. The official celebrations took place on October 1, 2025, in both villages.
Alcudia and Fornalutx are active members of the network, paying an annual fee of €6,000 each. Fornalutx is renowned for its cobbled streets, stone houses, and terraced orange groves, while Alcudia combines medieval walls, Roman ruins, and a vibrant historic centre. Recognition as one of Spain's most beautiful villages encourages these towns to balance tourism with preservation of their unique heritage.
Celebrations in Alcudia and Fornalutx included guided tours, cultural exhibitions, and activities focused on history and local traditions. Both villages are promoting cultural tourism while protecting their unique heritage. However, Pollensa recently withdrew from the association.
Alcudia and Fornalutx in Mallorca have been recognised for their cultural and architectural significance. As active members of the 'Most Beautiful Villages' network, they continue to preserve their historic charm and cultural heritage while welcoming visitors.
