Live Broadcast: Journey Along the Shoreline

Get ready for an exciting online event dedicated to sea otters and community stewardship! On a forthcoming date, Libbie Scheding, a member of the interpretive staff at California State Parks, will be the guest speaker at a live event hosted by Sea Otter Savvy. The event will not be held at the Oregon Zoo, but will instead be streamed online.

Libbie's talk will centre around sea otters in estuaries, with a particular focus on eelgrass health. This discussion will provide valuable insights into the marine ecosystem and the role of sea otters within it.

Meanwhile, Chanel Hason, representing Elakha Alliance, will be at the Oregon Zoo for a separate live event. Chanel will discuss the absence of sea otters in Oregon and the importance of community involvement in recovery and restoration planning.

In a separate event at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Katie Finch and Kaitlyn Reilly will share their roles in sea otter conservation and recovery.

If you're interested in sea otters in Santa Cruz, Elkhorn Slough, or Morro Bay, keep an eye out for other live events focusing on these locations.

For those in Santa Cruz, Samantha and Dakota Peebler, Heirs to Our Ocean, will be live at Steamer Lane. Additionally, Gena Bentall from Sea Otter Savvy, along with Adam from Monterey Bay Kayaks and Dave from Kayak Connection, will kayak live in Elkhorn Slough, focusing on community stewardship and coexistence.

Stay tuned for the YouTube Live event link, which will be available soon. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about sea otters and the important role we all play in their conservation!
