Labbeck Camping Incident: 3 Seriously Injured in Rescue Operation
Three people were seriously injured in a camping incident at Labbeck on Saturday evening, April 12, 2025. The Labbeck unit responded swiftly, illuminating a landing area for two rescue helicopters, which were later revealed to be night-capable intensive transport helicopters (ITH).
The rescue operation involved several ambulances and emergency doctor vehicles, all working together to transport the injured to suitable specialist clinics in the Ruhr area and another specialist hospital. The Labbeck unit, consisting of approximately 16 personnel, remained on site until around 23:45 to ensure all injured parties were safely evacuated.
The cause and circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation by the police.
Two night-capable intensive transport helicopters landed at the scene to facilitate the swift transportation of the seriously injured. Despite the lack of specific information on the rescue helicopters deployed, the Labbeck unit's quick response and coordination with other emergency services ensured the best possible care for the injured.
