Isle of Man Revives 'Winter Event Scheme' to Boost Businesses

The Business Isle of Man team has revived its 'Winter Event Scheme' to invigorate the hospitality, leisure, and retail sectors from October 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. Aiming to bolster footfall and local spending during the quieter winter months, the scheme offers up to 80% funding for eligible event costs, capped at £2,000.

Venues can now apply directly to the Business Isle of Man team for support to host a variety of in-house events, including quiz nights, open-mic sessions, drama performances, workshops, indoor markets, and film screenings. Eligible expenses cover entertainment, equipment hire, marketing, venue preparation, and travel and accommodation for visiting performers. Minister for Enterprise Tim Johnston highlighted the scheme's importance, aligning it with the Local Economy Strategy vision. Stephen Ball, general manager at the Mannin Hotel, commended the scheme for aiding logistics and enabling more events to be hosted.

Businesses interested in applying or seeking more information can visit the Business Isle of Man website or contact the team at [email protected]. The scheme aims to transform the winter months into vibrant and thriving periods for local venues.
