Inmates' Art Shines in Yakutia's Ice & Snow Sculpture Competition
Inmates from Yakutia's penal institutions have showcased their artistic talents in the annual ice and snow sculpture competition. Corrective Colony No. 1 emerged victorious, with No. 5 and No. 6 following closely.
The competition, held among various penal institutions in the Republic of Yakutia, saw intricate sculptures depicting kind fairy-tale characters and animals symbolic of the Eastern calendar. Inmates began preparations as soon as the first snow fell, sketching designs and planning layouts.
Corrective Colony No. 1 took the top spot, followed by No. 5 in second place and No. 6 in third. Despite the harsh conditions, the inmates' creativity and skill shone through their icy masterpieces.
