Ministers from India and Japan, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Hiromasa Nakano, inspected the Surat stretch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) mta project. They praised the quality and speed of construction, marking a significant milestone in India's first high-speed rail corridor.
The Ministers reviewed key components, such as the advanced track slab laying car and the track slab adjustment facility. They commended the rapid progress, with 323 km of viaduct and 399 km of pier work completed, including 17 River bridges, five PSC bridges, and nine Steel bridges. Notably, the 508 km long Bullet Train corridor is set to revolutionize travel between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
A Multi-Modal Integration Plan has been prepared for Surat's Bullet Train station. This plan, developed in collaboration with local authorities, will enable seamless transfers between metro trains, buses, taxis, autos, and other local transport. The upcoming station is designed with passenger comfort in mind, featuring soothing interiors, natural lighting, and well-ventilated platforms.
The Ministers' visit underscores the strong collaboration between India and Japan in implementing the MAHSR project. With the Surat stretch progressing rapidly and the Multi-Modal Integration Plan in place, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train is poised to enhance connectivity and passenger experience.
