Increasing flights linking Manila and Seattle by Philippine Airlines

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to increase the frequency of its Manila-Seattle route, offering passengers more options and strengthening connections between the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific Northwest. The expanded service, which will see the addition of Tuesday and Thursday departures, is due to commence on November 25, 2025.

The growing demand for travel between the two regions, particularly from business travelers, leisure tourists, and the Filipino American community, has driven this expansion. The Manila-Seattle route is the sole nonstop connection between the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific Northwest, making it strategically important.

Seattle serves as a hub for Alaska Airlines, with which PAL recently established a codeshare agreement. This partnership enables seamless connections to many U.S. and Canadian cities beyond Seattle, expanding PAL's reach significantly. The added flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays complement existing flights on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, supporting increased passenger traffic and business opportunities.

The move fits within PAL’s long-term strategy to develop the U.S. market further, facilitating tourism, commercial activities, and family reunions. PAL operates a Boeing 777-300ER on this route, reflecting investment in high-capacity, long-range aircraft to meet demand.

This increase in flights is part of a broader strategy to strengthen US-Philippines travel and trade links. Passengers can benefit from more seamless domestic US connections via Seattle-Tacoma International Airport due to the PAL and Alaska Airlines partnership. The increased frequency on the Manila-Seattle route is expected to raise cargo capacity by up to 40 tons per week, supporting commercial activity between the two countries.

In summary, PAL is increasing the Manila-Seattle flight frequency to capitalize on rising demand, leverage the strategic importance of Seattle as a gateway city, and enhance its global network connectivity through partnerships like the one with Alaska Airlines. The expanded service is set to commence in November 2025, offering passengers more flexibility and options for travel between the two regions.
