Hungary, Kazakhstan Strengthen Ties with Scholarships, Flight, and Presidential Visit

Hungary and Kazakhstan are strengthening their ties with a surge in educational opportunities, a new direct flight, and a presidential visit. President Tamás Sulyok is currently in Kazakhstan, invited by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as part of the flourishing strategic partnership between the two nations.

Hungary is offering 250 scholarships annually to Kazakh citizens under the Stipendium Hungaricum program, with six times more applications than places available. This initiative aims to boost long-term ties, focusing on education, science, and culture. A direct flight between Budapest and Shymkent has also launched, bolstering tourism links.

The two countries are exploring deeper cooperation in key sectors like energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and digitalization. Both nations, situated geographically and symbolically between Europe and Asia, play a crucial role in East-West connectivity. The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, passing through Kazakhstan, is a testament to this. Together, they are fortifying sustainable transport, logistics, and energy chains between the regions.

With President Sulyok's visit, the strategic partnership between Hungary and Kazakhstan continues to thrive. Educational opportunities, tourism, and cooperation in vital sectors are driving this growth. As bridges and gateways between Europe and Asia, both countries are poised to play a pivotal role in fostering regional connectivity and development.
