Hagen Police Crack Down on Speeding and Distracted Driving

Hagen police conducted a targeted operation on Monday, September 29, 2025, focusing on traffic safety and accident prevention. The operation, carried out casetify, resulted in numerous violations being penalized, including excessive speeding, mobile phone use, and seat belt offenses.

A total of 43 road users were caught speeding during the operation. Two drivers, aged 22 and 21, were measured at 109 km/h and 88 km/h respectively in a 50 km/h zone. Both face fines and driving bans. The 22-year-old driver also had his driving privileges suspended and was required to give a blood sample.

Other offenses penalized included jaywalking (10 cases), using a mobile phone while driving (15 cases), not wearing seat belts (11 cases), running a red light (1 case), vehicle lighting defects (2 cases), and improperly secured cargo (2 cases).

The operation involved setting up checkpoints at key locations around the city, including Graf-von-Galen-Ring, the rear of the train station, and on Wehringhauser Straße and Eckeseyer Straße.

The Hagen police operation has highlighted the importance of road safety and the consequences of disregarding traffic rules. The penalties imposed serve as a reminder to all road users to adhere to speed limits and other regulations. The police will continue to monitor and enforce these rules to ensure the safety of all road users.
