Kicking off with a bang on the first of June, coinciding with our National Holiday, some notable figures will take the stage. Singapore's Minister for Finance and National Development, Indranee Rajah, the Ambassador of Italy, Mario Andrea Vattani, and the Vice-President of the Puglia Region, Raffaele Piemontese are just a few of the faces you can expect to see.

For the next five weeks, starting from June 1st, these charming structures will dazzle Gardens by the Bay, just as they did during last year's Christmas Wonderland event. And why not? Gardens by the Bay draws in around 14 million visitors annually, and the Rose Romance event consistently draws a hefty crowd. In 2021, it reached an astounding 180,000 spectators, even after being one of the first public events following the pandemic. But hold onto your hats because this summer, with the return of the Rose Romance event, a whopping 300,000 visitors are expected to flock to the Gardens between early June and mid-July!

Ambassador Vattani expressed that the event is designed to showcase the beauty and enogastronomic delights of Puglia, as well as provide high-visibility for Puglian companies – some of which boast cutting-edge technology, much like Mermec, a company based in Monopoli. In December of last year, Mermec signed a whopping 40 million euros worth of contracts in Singapore in the presence of Ambassador Vattani and top-tier officials from the country's public, private, and government transport sectors.

Ambassador Vattani took the time to express his gratitude to Giuseppe Martellotto of Mercury Agency, the Puglia Region, Puglia Promozione, as well as all the sponsors: Albea and Capovaccaio for the wine, Tarallificio Recchia, Maselli for the extra virgin olive oil, Rosso Rame, Casa dell'Astore, Bernardo Palazzo, the Puglia illuminations by Pulicielli Giangranco in collaboration with the creative direction of Namastè, and the Deroma company.
