New Terminal at Frankfurt Airport Approved - Frankfurt's New Terminal Ready for Operation After Passing Inspections

After a decade of construction, Frankfurt Airport's third passenger terminal is nearing completion. Final touches, including retail spaces, food outlets, and technical facilities, are being put in place before its operation begins.

The new terminal, set to open in the coming week, will initially accommodate 19 million passengers annually. Before welcoming travellers, it has successfully passed inspections by authorities.

To ensure a smooth start, Fraport plans to test passenger operations using 8,000 volunteers between January and April next year. This will help identify and address any potential issues before the terminal's official opening. The exact opening date will be announced soon.

The project, with a projected cost of around four billion euros, marks a significant expansion for Frankfurt Airport.
