Filipino Professionals Make History at IBAs: Abi Marquez & Kat Bautista Win Top Honors
Two Filipino professionals, Abi Marquez and Kat Bautista, have made history at the 22nd Annual International Business Awards (IBAs). They earned top honors, marking a significant milestone for Filipino representation at the prestigious event.
Abi Marquez, dubbed the 'Lumpia Queen,' won the Gold Stevie Award for Most Innovative Content Creator of the Year. This is a first-time category, reflecting her unique impact on the digital landscape. Marquez, with over 10 million followers, promotes Filipino food, particularly lumpia, through engaging online content. Her recognition also includes the Webby People's Voice Award, Forbes Asia 30 Under 30, and Cannes WIBA Food Creator of the Year.
Kat Bautista, COO of NYMA, became the first Filipino entrepreneur to win a Silver Stevie in the Best Female Entrepreneur category. Under her leadership, NYMA repaid critical loans in just 10 months, demonstrating her financial acumen. Bautista's 'tradigital' approach, which combines technological innovation with Filipino cultural values, has transformed NYMA into a dynamic and inclusive talent agency that prioritizes team well-being.
Both Marquez and Bautista will be celebrated at a gala banquet on October 10, 2025, at the Corinthia Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal. Their wins highlight the growing global influence of Filipino professionals and the IBAs' international prestige, with nominations received from 78 countries and territories this year.
