Vibrant Summer Ambiance at Highfield Festival Post Fire Incident from Previous Year - Festival ambiance returns to Highfield following last year's blaze during summer season
The Highfield Festival, Saxony's largest rock and pop festival, is currently underway at Lake Störmthal near Leipzig. With over 30,000 attendees, the festival offers three stages this year, providing a vibrant backdrop for live music performances.
However, the festival is not just about music. The festival's own beach, a popular spot among visitors, offers a chance to relax and unwind. This year, the Beach Stage has expanded its program to include yoga and aqua fitness sessions, catering to those seeking a more active summer experience.
Despite the high temperatures (above 33°C) posing a challenge, the organizers, Scorpio, have been encouraging visitors to wear hats and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. In addition, there are numerous free drinking water stations on the festival grounds to ensure everyone stays refreshed.
Last year, the Highfield Festival was affected by a fire on the Ferris wheel, resulting in 16 injuries, some of them severe. The incident has been thoroughly analysed with relevant safety authorities, and the organisers have confirmed that there will be a Ferris wheel on the festival grounds this year. Sandro's friend, for instance, proposed to his girlfriend at last year's festival's beach, making it a day they will never forget.
