Far East Tourism Surges, Primorye Leads with 82% of Visitors

The Middle East region in Russia has seen a surge in tourism, with its share in total trips exceeding 5%. Primorsky Krai, in particular, has become a magnet for visitors, attracting 82% of Middle East tourists in the summer of 2025.

The popularity of Primorye can be attributed to significant investments in hotels and transport infrastructure, its proximity to major centers, lower prices, and diverse offerings. Tourist traffic in the region has been growing by a remarkable 20-35% monthly. Around a third of Primorye's visitors come from neighboring regions.

The increase in tourist traffic is a result of infrastructure development, investment projects, and the promotion of unique tourist products. In the summer of 2025, 1.92 million Russians visited the Middle East. However, demand for trips to Sakhalin and Kamchatka decreased this year compared to the overall Middle East tourism.

Despite the decrease in demand for Sakhalin and Kamchatka, the Middle East as a whole has seen a 7.3% year-on-year increase in tourist traffic by the end of the first seven months of 2025. The region's tourism industry is expected to continue growing, driven by strategic investments and promotion of its unique offerings.
