The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the 2025 Shopping Campaign, a significant part of the "Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2025" and the "Amazing Grand Privilege in Amazing Summer Family Month" campaigns. These initiatives aim to boost tourism and spending by international visitors, particularly families and youth, during the mid-2025 season, with India as a key target market.

The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2025 runs from July 1 to August 15, 2025, targeting key markets such as India, China, Malaysia, Laos, and Vietnam. It offers special deals on accommodation, travel packages, and shopping, promoting well-known malls and tourism experiences in Bangkok and other cities.

The Amazing Grand Privilege in Amazing Summer Family Month campaign, launched in early August 2025, features discounts and e-VAT refund services in shopping malls including The Mall Group and ONESIAM malls, which are prominent mall operators in Thailand. These perks are designed to attract international family and multigenerational visitors, including Indian tourists.

The Mall Group and ONE SIAM, along with other malls under these groups, are main participants offering shopping discounts, VAT refund facilitation, and exclusive deals to international tourists, including Indians. This aligns with Thailand's efforts to increase international retail spending and repeat visits.

In addition to shopping, Thailand's culinary scene is also a major draw for Indian tourists. With nearly 17,478 Thai restaurants worldwide and Thai food exports reaching as high as 1.6 trillion baht, Thailand aims to be the "kitchen of the world." The Thai government is introducing international media to Michelin Star chefs of the country, including chef Chumpol Jaengprai, the UN's first sustainable food ambassador, and chef 'Jay Fai', the only street food Michelin star awardee in the world.

The 2025 Shopping Campaign includes popular malls such as Big C, One Bangkok, Mall Group, Gaysorn Village, King Power International, and Central Group. The Big C mall group, located in the Ratchaprasog shopping district of Bangkok, has created a statue of Shiva and is targeting Indian tourists, as stated by Ashwin Techajareonvikul, from the owning family of the Big C mall.

Other malls in the Ratchaprasog shopping district, participating in the Shopping Campaign, have statues of Indian gods like Ganesh, Vishnu, Indra, Lakshmi, and Brahma. Large discounts are being offered in malls, restaurants, retail outlets, supermarkets, and even on airlines such as Air Asia.

Indian tourists can participate in the Shopping Campaign by scanning a QR code upon arrival in Thailand or visiting aseanindiashoppers.com. The TAT governor, Thapanee Kiatphaibool, stated that Indian tourists love shopping and are expected to be interested in the 2023 Shopping Campaign. With 2.3 million Indian tourists already this year, the TAT governor aims to get 2.5 million Indian tourists this year.

Lekha Shankar is focusing on sustainable tourism in Bangkok travel mart, ensuring that the tourism industry in Thailand continues to grow in a responsible and sustainable manner. The 2025 Shopping Campaign is just one of the many initiatives aimed at making Thailand an attractive destination for tourists from around the world.
