Event Announcement: Bottrop's Second Celebration of Diversity Festivity
On October 2nd, 20XX, the ELORIA Erlebnisfabrik in Bottrop will play host to the second DIVE(ersity) IN Festival. This unique event, organized by the Bündnis Buntes Bottrop, the city of Bottrop, the Paritätischer Bottrop, the VHS, and funded by the state of NRW, aims to showcase the diversity of life in Bottrop through a focus on migrant perspectives, diversity, and anti-racism.
The festival will kick off with a panel discussion featuring Dein Couseng, Asli, and Tamara Tabakovic-Halilovic, moderated by Laura Bohnert, Equal Opportunities Officer of the Hochschule Ruhr West. Following this, students of the Migration department of the Kommunales Integrationszentrum of the city of Bottrop will present their results.
Throughout the day, attendees can look forward to numerous interactive activities that encourage active exchange, stand-up comedy performances by Neo Comedy and Ayan Ali, and a shared stage for these communities. The festival will also feature a photo exhibition, 'Kök-Pop', which showcases influences of post-migrant pop culture, this time from the perspective of Courage students.
As the sun sets, musical entertainment will be provided by the band 'Paulinko', with DJ Hanah Stewart closing the festival with a lively set.
The DIVE IN Festival clearly positions itself against discriminatory and boundary-crossing behavior, and an awareness team on-site ensures a respectful, safe, and inviting atmosphere. No one should experience discrimination or violence at the DIVE IN Festival.
The festival is barrier-free thanks to an existing elevator, and will take place in a venue with a unique atmosphere, offering drinks, food (including vegan options), and an outdoor terrace with comfortable seating at the ELORIA Bar & Lounge and the Event beer garden ZECHENTREFF.
Thomas Schwarzer, head of the Migration department of the Kommunales Integrationszentrum of the city of Bottrop, invites everyone interested to be part of the festival. Registration for the DIVE IN Festival is recommended.
The DIVE IN Festival is more than just an event; it's a platform for discussions and interactions where contemporary voices of BIPoC, LGBTQIA+, and PoC communities in the Ruhr area are heard. It's a celebration of the diversity that makes Bottrop the vibrant city it is. So, mark your calendars and join us for a day filled with art, education, and camaraderie.
