European Festival Held in Ghana to Foster Ghana-Spain Cultural Connections
Madrid, Spain, is set to host the Made in Ghana Europe Trade Show and Festival, an event aimed at bringing Africa and Spain closer through economic, social, and cultural activities. This collaboration is a joint initiative between Made in Ghana Consulting Ltd, the Ghana Embassy in Madrid, and the Spanish Embassy in Accra, with support from Casa África and the Spain-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (SGCC).
The purpose of the event, scheduled to take place in August, is to feature products and services by Ghanaian entrepreneurs from Ghana and across Europe. It aims to be the preferred reference point for Ghana's biggest players in business, tourism, arts, and culture, with the key goals of amplifying Ghana's trade, exhibiting products and services, showcasing Ghana-Spain intercultural relations, and highlighting the best of Ghanaian talent.
Brand Ambassador Samini has reiterated that the organizers plan to ensure these collaborations come to fruition. The Spanish Ambassador to Ghana, Javier Gutiérrez, has pledged his embassy's support for the project, ensuring the partnership of organizations relevant to the success of the festival, including Casa Africa and SGCC.
Furthermore, Ambassador Gutiérrez has pledged to facilitate the participation of Spanish artists to perform, possibly collaborate, and have masterclasses with locals to benefit both markets. The event is being held in partnership with the Spanish Embassy in Accra and the Ghana Embassy in Madrid, and is expected to attract members of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), SGCC, and businesses owned by Ghanaians in all 26 countries of the European Union.
Madrid, the capital of Spain, was selected to host the event due to its vantage location and hospitality. The launch of the project at the Ghana Embassy in Madrid is scheduled for May, with the planning team expected to pay a courtesy call on Muhammad Adam, Ghana's Ambassador to Spain, and attend various meetings with key organizations and partners in Spain from April 10 to 20, 2022.
The event is called the Made in GhanaEurope Trade Show and Festival, and while it is not specified as a continent-wide event, it was hinted by Mr. Bonsu that it could be a continent-wide version of the festival. For the most accurate and updated details about the specific 2025 event in Madrid, including official partners and participants, it is recommended to check with the Ghana Embassy in Spain, the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, or the official event website or press releases closer to the event date.
Made in Ghana Europe Trade Show and Festival is part of the global project launched by the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Thomas Mbomba, at his Ministry last August. The event is expected to attract a wide range of exhibitors from diverse sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, technology, and creative arts, and will likely include networking sessions, cultural performances, and business forums.
