Driver Arrested for Drug Use, Fake License, and Stolen Plates in Sankt Augustin

Police in Sankt Augustin stopped a 23-year-old driver on Wednesday evening, around 11:00 PM. The driver, a 40-year-old man from Recklinghausen, was driving a Mercedes without valid car insurance and was suspected of being under the influence of drugs.

During the vehicle check at a gas station, officers discovered the driver had no valid license and was using a French driver's license photo, which was invalid. They also found evidence of drug use and took a blood sample after the driver admitted to smoking cannabis the previous day. The preliminary test reacted positively for cannabis. Due to these findings, the driver was not allowed to continue driving and had to walk home. He now faces criminal charges for driving without a license, driving under the influence of drugs, and violating the mandatory car insurance law. Additionally, the vehicle's license plates were found to be stolen.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Recklinghausen, is suspected of multiple offenses, including driving without a valid license, driving under the influence of drugs, and violating the mandatory car insurance law. Further investigation and the results of the blood test will determine the final charges.
