Daytime instead of merely there - Guest at a folklore festival from Uruguay seeks local host family
Neustadt, Germany, is set to host the 32nd European Folklore Festival from July 25 to August 2, 2025. This week-long celebration of traditional arts and culture will feature over 350 dancers and musicians from various European countries and a special guest group from Uruguay, the Ballet Folklórico Aborigen.
The Ballet Folklórico Aborigen, founded in 2017, is a dance, music, and folklore group from Canelones, Uruguay. They have been invited to the festival to showcase their unique blend of traditional Uruguayan dances and contemporary feelings. Their performances will include traditional dances like Cat, Chimarrita, Huella, Polka, and Firmeza, as well as elaborate movements like Malambo, Boleadoras, and Bombos.
The shows at the festival tell stories that define the land, providing a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the participating countries.
