Dance initiative "Dancing Beyond Borders" set to debut at cultural event, first performance
The cultural spectacle of the Special Olympics State Games Halle 2025 is set to be an unforgettable event, with the inclusion of "Dance Without Borders." This innovative dance group, a collaboration between teenage students and young dancers from the Ballet Academy at the Opera House Halle, will make its debut on the Brick Field.
Since April, 21 teenagers aged 14 to 18 from Saaleschule, Astrid-Lindgren-Foerderschule, and Schule am Lebensbaum have been rehearsing for the debut performance. The project is being led by Emma Harrington.
The debut performance of "Dance Without Borders" is scheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 11:30 AM. The day before, on Saturday, August 30, a dress rehearsal will take place at the same venue, starting at 10:00 AM. Media representatives are invited to attend both the dress rehearsal and the presentation of "Dance Without Borders."
"Dance Without Borders" was formed to open the Special Olympics State Games Halle 2025 on September 7. The Society of Friends of the Opera and Ballet Halle e.V. is supporting the project, reflecting the organisation's commitment to promoting arts and inclusivity.
The cultural spectacle, where "Dance Without Borders" will be presented, will take place on the Market Square. The inclusive dance group's performance promises to be a highlight of the event, as young people with and without disabilities will perform together for the first time.
